5. Nintendogs – Nintendogs was hailed as a revolution in the pet simulator genre when it was a release title for the original DS and it still shines today. The puppies have unique appearances and personalities and behave in a realistic manner. Suited for both gamers and non-gamers, it has universal appeal.
4. Advance Wars Dual Strike – Advance Wars developed itself on the GameBoy Advance into a highly advanced turn-based strategy game, and Dual Strike was the result of many years of testing and honing. Decidedly cartoonish and fun, Dual Strike is inviting for those who aren’t in to strategy games yet challenging for those who are.
3. ART STYLE series – The ART STYLE series of DSi games is available exclusively through the download service. Most of them are the result of individual programmers exploring simple gaming designs, but they are delightfully challenging in their simplicity. A must-have for puzzle gamers.
2. The New Super Mario Bros. – Nintendo is always great at making old things new again, as they proved in The New Super Mario Bros. Intended to be a spiritual successor to the Super Mario Bros. of the NES era, this game packs old-school action into new-school hardware and graphics.

But as anyone whose played Chinatown Wars knows, they captured every key element of the classic Grand Theft Auto series in a simple, easy-to-play package. It’s no wonder that it is consistently rated the best DS game of all time!
